Whats the difference between AP 2D & AP Drawing Portfolio? Simply put Drawing Portfolio is specific to drawing and painting skills. 2D Portfolio is all about combining manipulation of media. It ranges from photography, digital media, to drawing while adding other elements to the piece such as plexi glass build up and or specific design elements.

Figure/ground relationship) can be articulated through the visual elements (line, shape, color, value, texture, space). Any 2D process may be submitted, including graphic design, digital imaging, photography, collage, fabric design, weaving, fashion design, illustration, painting, printmaking, etc.
Breadth (Range of Approach)- 12 images A variety of works demonstrating your understanding of the principles of design.
Concentration (Sustained Investigation)- 12 images A series describing an in-depth exploration of a particular design concern or idea.
Quality (Selected Works)- 5 actual artworks 5 actual works that will be matted and mailed off to the AP College Board. These should demonstrate your mastery of 2D design.
